Frequently asked questions

Help for viewers, broadcasters and client staff.

How do I broadcast live video?

Open your client workspace, select your assigned channel and reveal its encoder details. In OBS use the RTMPS server URL and complete stream key. Start streaming, then open the channel page.

What happens when I stop broadcasting?

Video channels configured with scheduled content should return to that content. Empty channels may remain off air. Radio AutoDJ setup is still pending.

How do I broadcast radio?

Use butt or Mixxx with the Icecast 2 host, port, mount and source credentials in your client workspace. Radio credentials differ from video stream keys.

How do I publish a podcast or recorded show?

In Shows & Podcasts create a draft, attach MP3, MP4 or WebM media and publish it. The current upload limit is 64 MB.

Can I charge for a show?

Choose one-time payment and set a price. Paid publishing requires approved fees, enabled checkout and completed payout setup. ZuluTV’s platform fee is 25% unless the administrator grants an exemption.

How do I change the offline image?

In your client workspace choose Offline image on an assigned channel. Upload a still JPEG, PNG or WebP image up to 8 MB. A 16:9 image works best.

Why is the live video muted?

Browsers normally allow autoplay when muted. Use Sound on to enable audio.

Why can’t I share a paid viewing account?

Paid viewing uses the latest active login session. Signing in elsewhere can revoke an earlier session.

Why does my stream fail to connect?

Check the assigned credentials, encoder protocol, and network access. Video uses RTMPS port 1936; radio uses its own port. Report the time and channel, without sharing the password.

What should I do if login fails?

Check your username and password, and complete any required password change. An administrator may need to reset your account. Do not send passwords in support reports.

When are reports checked?

Reports are stored in the platform’s administrator inbox. The assistant can review them when the server is connected and you ask it to resume work.
